Job Summary:

Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary approach in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the Emergency Department setting. Provides comprehensive care for the life span of patients, where applicable.  Effectively delivers patient care through Nursing Process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Implementation and evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an Accredited School or College of Nursing
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or a multi-state compact license
  • BLS & ACLS from the AHA
  • Minimum of 1 year acute care nursing experience required
  • Emergency experience required

Pay Range: $35.15- $50.00

The Float Pool RN works on different units throughout the hospital due to staffing and patient demands. Depending on the candidate's qualifications, incentives are added to base rate of pay as follows: 
-Float 1: Acute Care Med Surg Patient on any unit:: Med/ Surgical, Borda, Ortho, Telemetry, ICU, & WNCU (Med Surg) will be paid an additional $3.00 per hour incentive. 
-Float 2: Cardiac rhythm Recognition, ACLS certification, monitoring of patients on continuous cardiac monitoring/telemetry, All Level I Units plus ED and WNCU (post-partum) will be paid an additional $4.00 per hour incentive. 
-Float 3: Additional skills to manage Critical Care patient (for example: BiPAP/CPAP, intubation, mechanical ventilation, invasive monitoring, conscious sedation). All Level I and II Units (Independent/ Full Assignment). Includes PACU will be paid an additional $5.00 per hour incentive.
-Float 4: Additional training to procedural nursing specialty areas: All Level I, II, and III Units and IR, Cath Lab, Endo will be paid an additional $6.00 per hour incentive. 

ASN required; BSN preferred. BLS from American Heart Association required at minimum. One year of acute care nursing experience required.
