What is a configuration manager?

A configuration manager oversees the lifecycle of software or hardware production, such as a new app or server development. Job duties include getting authorization for the project, documenting the process from the outline to the quality assurance and beta testing, overseeing the coding and implementation, and collecting data relevant to the project.
