Position Description: The MissionAt ANPC, we solve the world’s most difficult airfield challenges. We are a team of extraordinary professionals working together to perform an important mission to uniquely serve airports with terrain, obstacles and other challenges that no other business can provide. We aren’t looking for a "task-tracker"—we’re looking for an execution specialist who lives for the "how". You’ll be the critical gatekeeper of our internal engineering configuration controls, turning high-precision navigation and surveillance requirements into certified, flight-ready, perfectly documented reality.Job SummaryAs the Configuration Management (CM) Manager, you will support the design, development, and integration of mission-critical navigation equipment for the aerospace industry. This role is central to our product development lifecycle—spanning from initial concept, product use definition, formal design reviews, rigorous integration testing, and finally to audited product delivery. Deeply rooted in W. Edwards Deming's principles of continuous improvement, this role focuses on pulling configuration integrity and data control much earlier into the product lifecycle process to eliminate downstream engineering waste and variances. You will serve as the technical authority for product data, baseline integrity, and change execution. You will maintain ultimate ownership over the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of all core technical baselines: the Functional Baseline, the Allocated Baseline, the Developmental Baselines, and the Production Baseline. Additionally, you will directly control the formal verification process via Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), while executing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as tightly managed, approved technical projects. Partnering across engineering disciplines, you will ensure our safety-critical hardware and software systems are high-performing, traceable, and certifiable. The Day-to-Day• 80% Internal Engine: You are in the trenches with our Systems, Software, Hardware, Mechanical, Electrical, and Production teams. Directly leading a core CM team member, you’ll run the Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), manage the ECO pipeline, audit developmental baselines, and maintain the single source of truth in our product lifecycle management tools.• 20% Strategic Interface: You get a seat at the table. You will actively lead efforts to pull configuration and data management controls earlier into the design cycle, ensuring our internal engineering data, external development partners, and customer stakeholders remain synchronized. Why this is differentThis isn't a "cog in the machine" role. Working in the Systems Engineering team, you’ll have the autonomy to lead cross-functional teams through the high-stakes world of product development and sustainment. You’ll work with modular systems and incremental, concurrent engineering in an environment where precision is the only option. You’ll champion an advanced CM process that continuously improves, designing in quality and traceability from day one.Essential Job Functions• Orchestrate & Deliver ECO Projects: Lead the planning, execution, tracking, and closure of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) treated as approved internal and external technical projects using ANPC’s Product Lifecycle framework.• Control Complete Baselines: Integrate development and systems engineering efforts with Configuration Management to establish and maintain proper baseline controls across the functional, allocated, developmental, and production levels.• Govern Configuration Audits: Schedule, manage, and execute all formal product Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) to verify that manufactured and deployed systems perfectly match approved configuration documentation.• Pull Quality Upstream: Partner across multi-disciplinary engineering functions to allocate requirements early in the lifecycle, continuously improving internal configuration management processes to minimize late-stage engineering variations and drive early technical alignment.• Cross-Functional Integration: Provide direct mentorship and leadership to your dedicated CM resource while partnering across all functional areas—including Engineering (Systems, Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechanical), Production, Finance, and Executive Leadership to maintain strict configuration control.Education and Work Experience Requirements• Bachelor’s degree or BS degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical equivalent.• At least 5 years of professional configuration management experience in a highly regulated sector, preferably in the aerospace or defense industries.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics• In-depth familiarity with traditional defense industry configuration standards (e.g., ANSI/EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61) governing baseline identification, change control, status accounting, and verification audits.• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills combined with a positive, professional approach to incorporating company values into all responsibilities.• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams through configuration control cycles across the full product life cycle.• Exceptional ability to read, write, and interpret complex technical documents (contracts, specifications, drawings, manuals) and communicate effectively with management, customers, and internal teams.• Expert-level familiarity product data management (PDM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools • Skilled in data analysis and decision-making based on quantifiable insights to manage configuration stability and stakeholder expectations.• Experience working alongside Agile and engineering values, ensuring configuration control gates support velocity without introducing bureaucratic bottlenecks.Nice to Have• Familiarity with aerospace industry quality standards or other highly regulated environments (e.g., AS9100, or ISO9000) preferred.• Familiarity ensuring compliance with ITAR, FAA certification processes, and comprehensive system safety assurance levels (DALs).• Practical experience with software/hardware development guidelines, specifically RTCA DO-178C, DO-278A, DO-254, and ARP4761A.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job in an office and manufacturing environment.
