Security Technical Account Manager

Fastly is looking for a Senior Technical Account Manager focused on Fastly Security products in North America. Our Senior Technical Account Managers deliver strategic technical initiatives for our customers in coordination with our Security Solutions teams. As a TAM, you will be collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, Support, and Security Research teams to help some of our biggest clients.

What You\'ll Do:
  • Serve as the primary security point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of strategic enterprise customers, supporting their security goals and strengthening long-term partnerships between customers and Fastly.

  • Build deep relationships with customer security, engineering, and leadership teams, acting as a technical and strategic security advisor at both tactical and executive levels.

  • Provide tailored security recommendations aligned to each customer’s infrastructure, application architecture, and business requirements, ensuring effective adoption and optimization of Fastly’s security solutions.

  • Act as the voice of the customer internally, advocating for customer needs, priorities, and feedback with Product, Engineering, Support, CSOC, Sales, and Leadership teams.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive resolution of complex security issues, escalations, and investigations, ensuring clear communication and timely outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and team efficiency by driving internal process improvements, automation, and tooling enhancements.

  • Design and deliver security workshops, technical deep dives, and enablement sessions tailored to customer needs and threat landscapes.

  • Contribute to internal initiatives such as professional services engagements, security programs, or special projects as assigned.

  • Coach and mentor junior team members, supporting onboarding, skill development, and knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Help create, maintain, and improve internal documentation, playbooks, and best practices to scale the Security TAM function effectively.

What We\'re Looking For:
  • 8+ years in customer-facing technical roles (TAM, Sales Engineering, Support, or Professional Services) supporting enterprise customers, ideally in cloud, CDN, or application security environments

  • Strong expertise in application and web security, including WAFs, bot mitigation, DDoS protection, OWASP Top 10, and API security

  • Solid understanding of the internet and application fundamentals, including HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS, BGP, and modern application architectures

  • Proven ability to move from reactive support to proactive security guidance, improving customer security posture and long-term outcomes

  • Trusted advisor mindset with strong customer empathy, capable of engaging both technical teams and executive stakeholders

  • Familiarity with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Go, or similar) to improve workflows and efficiency is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English required

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer engagements

  • Previous experience in CDN, security, web performance, cloud environments

  • Experience working with cloud-native and distributed systems, including containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and microservices

  • Proficiency with Configuration Management and IaC tools to automate security deployments

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Work Hours:
  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $122,280 to $172,632.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
