Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Configuration Manager to work out of Schriever SFB, CO.
PAY: $120,000-$130,000
JOB SUMMARY:
The Configuration Manager will lead a team supporting IT operations tracking hardware, software and building cabling requirements as well as managing processes, strategies, and technologies that support a full lifecycle approach to managing all IT assets. IT Asset & Cable Management covers a wide spectrum of responsibility, including aiding with asset requests, approvals, procurement, receipt, setup, installation, repairs, changes, upgrades, moves, analysis, and disposal of assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Perform configuration identification, configuration management planning, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits to include the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, and other related documentation.
  • Maintain and update the existing configuration management database for all systems (hardware, software & cable) and communications equipment (hardware and software)
  • Track software licensing and other pertinent data and update the database daily to keep it accurate. Ensure all hardware and software is added to the inventory database prior to installation, dispose of excess hardware and software IAW DAFMAN17-1203, and ensures the disposition is annotated in the database.
  • Support audits to verify that requirements of all baselines are met and are under configuration control.
  • Support the Government with the CCS-3 process in submitting requests for quotes, creating orders, tracking order status, and executing the CCS-3 waiver process for buying IT assets outside of the CCS-3 process.
  • Develop and review communication system requirements document to ensure sufficiency, identify shortfalls and excesses, and integrate communication systems to achieve interoperability and establish continuity procedures and a reference library of pertinent policies and procedures.
  • Perform facility layout and engineering for all Delta 12 responsible areas.
  • Package and ship defective parts and receive replacement parts for equipment under warranty.
  • Participate in planning forums, briefings, conferences and meetings to keep informed on internal and external resources.
  • Reports on configuration management activities during meetings
  • Manages the configuration management team including the Information Technology Equipment Custodian and act as the central point of contract between the organization and the Base Equipment Control Office.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of existing infrastructure, planning, and management of all activities related to cable infrastructure supported by the contract
  • Responsible for running new cable (Cat6 & Fiber) termination and testing of cables, documenting cable and routing diagrams

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 7 Years of experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 9 years experience in cable management
  • Bachelors degree

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Associates degree in related field is preferred; Additional years of experience may be used in lieu of education.
  • BICSI Certification
