Raytheon’s Software Engineering, Ground and Maritime department is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Baseline Configuration Lead (BCL) to help oversee and manage the software release process for our SPY-6 program and to contribute to key mission areas or variants within the program. This is an exciting opportunity for growth in both technical expertise and program development.

The Baseline Configuration Lead (BCL) will ensure releases align with the program schedule and Program Increment (PI) objectives while maintaining proper version control and accurate baselines for software artifacts, configurations, and documentation. This role demands strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to ensure effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact across the program.

This role will be 100% on-site in either Marlborough or Tewksbury, Massachusetts with domestic business travel opportunities up to 25%.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee the software release process, ensuring alignment with program schedules and Program Increment (PI) objectives.

  • Serve as the central point of communication for release-related activities, ensuring alignment across teams and stakeholders.

  • Ensure proper version control and maintain accurate baselines for software artifacts, configurations, and documentation.

  • Facilitate the creation and management of baselines across the program, including mock installs, ensuring traceability and consistency in software components.

  • Monitor and validate that changes are properly documented, approved, and integrated into the baseline in a controlled manner.

  • Drive the creation of Software Release Packages.

  • Generate release documentation and conduct formal release handover meetings.

  • Provide Tier 1 reach-back support for site-specific software issues.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience in software release management, configuration management, or a related field.

  • Experience with version control systems and baseline management processes. (e.g., IBM Rationale Clearcase, Git).

  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming languages such as C++ and/or Java.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Interim Secret security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Radar software systems.

  • Familiarity with customer interaction and Tier 1 support processes.

  • Knowledge of formal release documentation processes and CDRL package creation.

  • Experience in managing run requests and release tooling systems.

  • Experience with Scripting (bash, Perl, Python).

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to escalate and resolve issues efficiently.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
