Job description

HCT seeks an experienced nursing executive to serve as the Interim Vice President, Patient Care Services/CNO for a confidential critical access hospital in the north central part of the US. This leader will provide overall clinical and administrative direction for hospital services while supporting nursing, quality, safety, regulatory, and operational priorities. Goals and responsibilities will include:

  • Managing budgets, productivity, and resource allocation.
  • Ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission, licensure, and accreditation standards.
  • Developing, coaching, and mentoring nursing and clinical leaders.
  • Collaborating with system leaders, local leadership, and providers to support organizational priorities.
  • Stepping in to support staff during periods of high workload or staffing challenges.

Requirements:

  • Education: RN required; Master's degree required
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in the discipline or 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Critical Access Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Critical Access Hospital experience, including Critical Access Hospital leadership experience within the last 12 months. Recent CAH experience is required. Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring, and change-management experience required. Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC), governing boards, and other regulatory agency standards required.
  • Licensure: Current compact RN license accepted.
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA) required
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Project, and Google Suite.
