Director of Conference Services and CommunicationsDepartment Conference Services and CommunicationsBuilding/Location MPAC Main CampusSupervisor PresidentMonths Per Year 12Hours Per Week 40 - Flexible HoursClassification Level DirectorSalary RangeFLSA Status ExemptSupervises Conference Services CoordinatorStudent WorkersPOSITION SUMMARY Directs the Conference Services team, which manages all events/spaces acrosscampus including but not limited to the MPAC. Coordinates all AV/technology needs for the MPAC. Facilitates all on campus events both in-house and external.

Schedules events and assists each department with those events. Create and implement communication strategies that align with the mission and brandguidelines. Build and maintain relationships with media outlets/manage press releases withPresidents approval.

Create content (as needed) for social media, newsletters, Friday Focus and websites toensure consistent messaging. This person should be a self-motivated individual.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Any one position may not include all of the listed duties,nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks, which may be found in positions within thisclassification) Answering and approving event space requests via the calendar, email and phone Providing excellent and timely customer service Managing events; setting up, tearing down, event operations, obtaining needed labor,and provide friendly customer service Planning, organizing, scheduling and coordinating events Communicating with departments and staff within the university and externalorganizations to coordinate events and other issues related to the conference servicesset-up and tear down and securing of appropriate A/V personnel to cover event.
