Job description

Wyyerd is seeking an OSP Fiber Splicer who will be responsible for supporting the construction of FTTH GPON plant by installing conduit, pulling fiber, splicing fiber, in addition to other duties related to Outside plant construction. In addition, this role will support plant maintenance, repair and support.

Responsibilities

  • Proofing conduit paths

  • Pulling fiber through conduit

  • Splicing fiber, once trained, to enable service to customers

  • OSP plant maintenance and repair support

  • Locating of existing network infrastructure via geospatial tools, GPS capture tools

  • Working effectively with other people and teams in the organization

  • Programing and troubleshooting networking equipment as needed

  • Assisting with other OSP and network-related activities as needed, e.g., placement of drop cables

  • Other duties as required

Experience/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Positive attitude, willingness and eagerness to learn new things, team player

  • Able to lift up to 40lbs

  • Ability to understand/learn the fiber network construction process
