This is a traveling construction position supporting greenfield and brownfield substation projects throughout the state of Florida.

  • This is NOT a local, single-site job
  • Projects run for weeks or months at a time, then move to the next location - today the bulk of this work is in North Florida
  • You must be willing and able to travel statewide and work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • If you are looking for indoor work, local-only work, or a short commute, this role is not a fit

Position Summary

Powerserve Technologies, Inc. is an EPC contractor specializing in high-voltage substation construction and upgrades. We are seeking an experienced Concrete Tradesman to join our FCG (Foundation, Conduit, and Grounding) crews.

This role supports:

  • Greenfield substation construction
  • Brownfield substation expansions and upgrades

You will work as part of a skilled traveling crew performing concrete foundation work, conduit installation, and grounding systems for utility-scale electrical infrastructure.


Travel & Lodging Details

  • Projects located anywhere within Florida
  • Daily or weekly travel to job sites is required
  • Reliable personal vehicle required for travel to and from job sites
  • Clean driving record required
  • When job sites are 2+ hours from an employeeโ€™s home, Powerserve typically provides:

    • Hotel accommodations
    • Per diem for meals and incidentals


Core Responsibilities

  • Construct concrete foundations for transmission and substation infrastructure
  • Perform foundation excavation support, rebar placement, and concrete operations
  • Build and install rebar cages per engineered drawings
  • Assist with installation of conduit and electrical grounding systems
  • Read and interpret foundation layouts and civil drawings
  • Operate and assist with construction and foundation-related equipment
  • Assist with transport, loading, and unloading of tools and equipment
  • Accurately document foundation depth, soil conditions, and completed work
  • Work safely around energized facilities and heavy equipment
  • Follow all company, client, and OSHA safety requirements


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of construction experience (utility, civil, or foundation work strongly preferred)
  • Proven outdoor construction experience in physically demanding environments
  • Willingness to work outdoors in heat, rain, and varying weather conditions
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Florida
  • Valid Florida driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record (7+ years)
  • Reliable personal vehicle for job site travel
  • Ability to read basic construction drawings
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)


Preferred (Strongly Desired) Qualifications

  • Utility, substation, or transmission construction experience
  • Experience with:

    • Concrete foundations
    • Conduit installation
    • Electrical grounding systems
  • Class A CDL (highly preferred)

    • Ability to tow trailers and transport heavy equipment is a major plus
  • Experience working on EPC or utility-scale projects
