Position Summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Concrete Laborers, to travel and perform concrete repair and maintenance operations in the Austin, Texas area during the day shift, and occasionally in night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway concrete repair/maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Required Experience:
 
  • Concrete forming, finishing, and repair experience required - Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools
  • Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator

Preferred Experience:
 
  • Roadway maintenance experience
  • Air compressor operations familiarity
  • Guardrail and Sign installation experience
  • MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required

Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications:
 
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
  • Carry out simple arithmetic functions
  • Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
  • Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
  • Ability to use smart phone and applications
  • Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
  • Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate hand/power tools
Schedule:
Must be able to work rotating day or night shift. Day shift is typically 7am - 3:30pm. Night shift is typically 6pm - 2:30am or once concrete is cured, Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
