Job Description

We are seeking an ICC Certified Reinforced Concrete and/or Structural Masonry Special Inspector to perform special inspections on commercial, industrial, and public works construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform special inspections of reinforced concrete and structural masonry construction in accordance with project specifications and applicable building codes.
  • Verify compliance with approved plans, shop drawings, and special inspection requirements.
  • Inspect reinforcing steel placement, concrete placement activities, masonry construction, grout placement, and related structural elements.
  • Document inspection observations and prepare accurate daily reports and project documentation.
  • Maintain complete and organized project files, including reports, field notes, correspondence, RFIs, and supporting records.
  • Communicate inspection findings and project updates to project managers, contractors, engineers, and client representatives.
  • Identify and document non-conforming work and verify corrective actions when required.
  • Review structural drawings, specifications, and code requirements prior to and during inspections.
  • Perform inspections in accordance with company quality standards and safety procedures.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing special inspections, construction inspection, or related quality assurance/quality control work.
  • Thorough knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural masonry construction practices and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Required Certifications

  • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector and/or ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector

Preferred Certifications

  • ICC Post-Tensioned Concrete Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Steel Welding Special Inspector
