Job description

Accounting Manager

Alamo Concrete Products Company, ACP, is headquartered in San Antonio, TX with 8 Divisions throughout the Greater Central/South Texas Region. ACP produces and delivers concrete and operates Aggregate Quarries that supply concrete, aggregate (rock) and sand to the batch plants.

We are hiring an Accounting Manager for our corporate office in North Central San Antonio. This newly created role will support a broad range of accounting and financial operations across the organization and serve as a hands-on accounting generalist, contributing to day-to-day accounting activities, reporting, and process improvements as part of a collaborative accounting team.

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Perform extensive financial and operational reporting for a multi-level organization.
  • Prepare customized, detailed financial, statistical, and general reports for submission to an international parent company.
  • Ensure compliance with strict reporting deadlines and corporate reporting schedules.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.
  • Assist preparation of complete audited financial statements, including footnote disclosures.
  • Planning and coordination with the outside audit firm and governmental agencies.
  • Utilize various technologies extracting, analyzing, and reporting information throughout the multi-level organization.
  • Manage general ledger activities and transaction accounting functions.
  • May be responsible for supervising and developing a small accounting team.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a higher-level accounting degree required.
  • Certified Public Accountant with 2 or more years’ experience preferred.
  • Public accounting audit and financial reporting experience with a recognized accounting firm preferred.
  • Strong experience with heavy data manipulation utilizing various computer applications, large ERP systems, and basic office applications (i.e. GL Wand (Excel4Apps product), Oracle, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple simultaneous projects, meeting strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively with others to achieve personal, department and company goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
