Job Description

Compass Care is a concierge Private Duty Home Care company (a non-medical, companion care company). Compass Care was founded by a renowned geriatrician and managed by gerontologists in 2014 with the idea of bringing evidence-based interventions, compassionate care and a high level of customer service to companion homecare. Compass Care embraces the client-centric principle of attentiveness and sensitivity to each older client's unique wishes and needs as well as those of his or her family. We provide an unmatched level of care with outstanding attention to detail.
We are seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial Registered Nurse to become our Director of Professional Development and Quality Assurance.


The ideal candidate must possess:
Excellent written and oral communication skills and outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work well with demanding clients, client services and management teams in the home office.
Must be able to fully support CNA caregivers in the field. Should be a self-starter.
Must be able to work independently as needed.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Clinical field support and training of caregivers. Responsible for ensuring a high level of clinical awareness among our caregivers.
Medical/psycho-social assessments of new clients
Development of Plans of care for all clients
Regular visits and monitoring of existing clients
Periodically, be on call as Administrator and Clinical Manager on Duty.
Visiting clients regularly and as needed
Professional manner interfacing with clients, families, and physicians as needed
Support, teaching, and evaluation of nurses' aides
Develop in-service curriculum and provide professional development for staff
Liaison between caregivers and clients
Educating clients and families
Qualifications:
Experience with older adults and in-home care.
Institutional experience and experience with dementia a plus.
Current CT and NY nursing license
