Concierge Associate information

What is a concierge associate?

Concierge Associates are professionals who assist guests, residents, or clients by providing personalized services and information. They often work in hotels, residential buildings, or corporate offices, helping with tasks such as making reservations, arranging transportation, offering recommendations, and handling guest requests. Their main goal is to ensure a positive experience and meet the specific needs of those they serve. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a concierge associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Concierge Associate, you need strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with reservation systems, hotel management software, and local information databases is often required. Excellent communication, problem-solving ability, and a friendly demeanor help build rapport with guests and address their needs efficiently. These skills are essential for delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the reputation of the establishment.

What are some common challenges concierge associates face, and how can they effectively handle them?

Concierge Associates often encounter challenges such as managing high guest expectations, handling multiple requests simultaneously, and staying updated on local events or services. To navigate these situations, strong communication and organizational skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Building a network of local contacts and keeping detailed records of guest preferences can help streamline service and ensure personalized experiences, even during busy periods.

What is the difference between Concierge Associate vs Front Desk Agent?

Concierge AssociateFront Desk Agent
Provides personalized services, reservations, and local recommendations to guestsHandles check-ins, check-outs, and general guest inquiries at the front desk

Both roles often require customer service skills and familiarity with hotel operations. Concierge Associates focus more on guest experience and personalized services, while Front Desk Agents primarily manage administrative check-in/out processes. Employers in hospitality frequently use both titles, and candidates often seek roles with overlapping skills. The main difference lies in the scope of responsibilities: concierge roles are more service-oriented, whereas front desk roles are administrative.

How much do you get paid as a concierge associate?

Concierge associates typically earn an average hourly wage of around $12 to $20, depending on location, experience, and employer. Salaries can range from approximately $25,000 to $45,000 annually for full-time roles. Compensation may also include tips and benefits such as health insurance and paid time off.

To become a concierge associate with no experience, focus on developing strong customer service and communication skills, which are essential for the role. Entry-level positions often require a high school diploma or equivalent, and gaining familiarity with hotel or hospitality environments can be helpful; some employers provide on-the-job training for new hires.

Is a concierge associate a stressful job?

A concierge associate's job can be stressful due to high customer service expectations, multitasking, and managing diverse guest needs. The role often requires strong communication skills, problem-solving, and the ability to handle busy environments, which can contribute to job-related stress.

Job description

Job Description - Sales Associate
Sales Associate | Murgado Automotive Group (Chicago)
Murgado Automotive Group is building something different. We're not looking for someone to stand around waiting for the next up. We're looking for a Sales Associate who understands that the game has changed. Customers arrive informed. They've done their research. They expect answers, not games. Your job is to meet them where they are, deliver an exceptional experience, and earn the business.
Our model is built on Transparency and Velocity. We invest in AI and automation to give you an edge. These tools handle the initial engagement and filtering, so by the time a customer reaches you, they're qualified and ready. Your job is to guide them through the experience, deliver on the promise, and make them certain they made the right choice. And when you're not with a customer, you're building your next one.

Position Overview
As a Sales Associate, you will operate in two modes:
Mode 1: Fulfillment and Experience
When a customer arrives on a committed deal (built by the Digital Sales Manager or closed at the desk), you become the concierge. The car is ready, detailed, and pulled up. The paperwork is prepared. Your job is to deliver a white-glove experience that validates the customer's decision and protects our CSI. You're not re-selling the car. You're making them glad they bought it.
Mode 2: Driving Your Business
When you're not handling a delivery or working with an up, you're building your pipeline. Equity mining. Service lane engagement. Orphan outreach. Personalized follow-up. This is not optional. Your volume depends on it. The best salespeople don't wait for the next deal to walk in. They build their own.
This is a high-performance environment. If you want to stand around and hope, this isn't the place. If you want to work, learn, and build a career, keep reading.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement and Experience
Greet and engage customers to understand their needs, preferences, and budget.
Guide customers through the vehicle selection and purchase process with transparency.
Conduct test drives and product presentations that build confidence, not pressure.
Deliver a white-glove experience for customers arriving on committed digital deals.
Ensure every interaction reflects our commitment to transparency and respect.
Business Development (When Not With a Customer)
Equity mining: Proactively contact customers in positive equity positions or approaching lease maturity.
Service lane engagement: Identify opportunities with customers in for service who may benefit from an upgrade.
Orphan outreach: Build relationships with customers whose previous salesperson has left.
Follow-up: Maintain ongoing communication with prospects and past customers to generate repeat and referral business.
This is measured. Activity standards apply. If you're not with a customer, you're driving your business.
Product Knowledge
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our vehicles, features, and competitive landscape.
Stay current on financing options, incentives, and promotions.
Participate in ongoing training programs to sharpen your skills.
Use AI daily to enrich and power yourself to be successful.
Sales Process and Collaboration
Work as one team with the Desk, Floor Manager, and Digital Sales Manager.
Honor commitments made to customers by other team members. No broken promises.
Collaborate with F&I to ensure smooth handoffs and a seamless customer experience.
Use CRM tools (VinSolutions, Tekion) to track customer interactions and manage your pipeline.
Metrics and Accountability
Meet or exceed monthly sales targets.
Maintain activity standards for outbound contacts, follow-ups, and equity mining.
Protect CSI by delivering exceptional experiences, especially on digital deal deliveries.

Qualifications
Experience
Prior car sales or retail experience is preferred but not required.
We're looking for people with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
If you've never sold cars but you've excelled in customer service, hospitality, or any role where results mattered, we want to talk to you.
Skills
Excellent communication skills. You can explain things clearly and connect with people.
Comfortable with technology: CRM systems, digital tools, and online communication.
Organized. You can manage a pipeline and follow up without dropping the ball.
Mindset
High-performance orientation. You don't wait for opportunities. You create them.
Believes in transparency. Customers deserve real answers, not games.
Values velocity. Speed to response, speed to delivery, speed to follow-up.
Team player. Your success is tied to the team's success. Act accordingly.
Hungry to grow. This role is a stepping stone to Sales Manager, Digital Sales Manager, or beyond for the right person.
________________________________________
Other Requirements
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
________________________________________
Benefits
Competitive Compensation: Base salary plus commission, with significant earning potential based on performance.
Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, PTO.
Career Growth: Advancement opportunities across the Murgado Automotive Group portfolio. We have 13 dealerships in Illinois and 31 across the group. High performers move up.
Employee Discounts: Vehicle purchases, parts, and service.
Modern Tools: You'll work with Tekion and VinSolutions, not legacy systems that slow you down.
Training: Ongoing development in product knowledge, sales techniques, and digital engagement.

Why Murgado Automotive Group?
We're not a dealership group stuck in 2005. We're building a model where AI and automation empower our team, experts handle the deals, and customers feel respected instead of pressured. The Sales Associate role is the front line of that experience.
We're launching a new store in Chicago and looking for people who want to be part of something different from day one. You won't inherit someone else's bad habits. You'll learn the right way, work with modern tools, and have a clear path to advancement.
If you've ever been frustrated by dealerships that reward politics over performance, or where the best ups go to whoever's been there longest, this is your chance to do it differently.
