Utah School Guardian ProgramLocation: UtahSchedule: Monday – Friday | Day ShiftPay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hourPosition OverviewThe Utah School Guardian Program is seeking experienced, highly professional individuals-particularly former or recently retired law enforcement officers-to serve as School Guardians. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff.School Guardians act as a deterrent to threats, while also serving as trusted, approachable figures within the school community. This position blends security expertise with community engagement, requiring both tactical readiness and strong interpersonal skills.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide a consistent security presence on assigned school campusesMonitor and control access points to ensure campus safetyRespond quickly and effectively to potential threats or emergenciesBuild positive relationships with students, faculty, and staffConduct routine patrols and security assessmentsCoordinate with school administration and local law enforcement when necessaryMaintain clear, accurate, and detailed incident reports; demonstrate exceptional written documentation skills and full accountability to actions taken.Preferred BackgroundFormer or recently retired law enforcement officer (strongly preferred)Prior military police or armed security experience may also be consideredMinimum RequirementsValid Armed Security License (Utah) / Ability to obtainValid Concealed Carry Permit / Ability to obtainAbility to pass a state-mandated psychological evaluation annuallyDemonstrated sound judgment under pressureStrong situational awareness and tactical proficiencyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProfessional demeanor with the ability to engage positively with youthWhat Sets This Role ApartPredictable Monday–Friday daytime schedule (no overnight or weekend shifts)Serve your community again by protecting students & staff before a crisis ever happensUse your natural leadership to drive school safetyIdeal CandidateYou're someone who has spent a career protecting others and still feels called to serve-but in a more stable, community-focused environment.
