RELATES CLOSELY WITH: CHILDREN'S MINISTRY TEAM

CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME up to 30 hours per week

PAY: Hourly


WestGate Church, a non-denominational, multi-congregational church situated in one of the most diverse and influential regions of the world-the Silicon Valley-is seeking an energetic, skilled Kids Coordinator to help provide a safe, warm and welcoming environment for our children and their families. This part-time role (Sunday - Thursday) may require occasional work on Fridays and Saturdays as well as evening hours.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; or over two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Positive, professional, self-starter with the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities and projects with minimal direction. 
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality, handling situations with discretion, diplomacy, and tact. 
  • Exhibits personal and professional discernment and discretion.  
  • Superior communication skills: written and verbal.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Help execute WestGate Kids environments, ensuring a safe, prepared, and welcoming experience for children and families
  • Support classroom flow, transitions, and overall program experience, including real-time problem solving (staffing, kids' needs)
  • Help recruit, hire, train, and onboard childcare workers building a strong and reliable team
  • Schedule childcare staff and support Sunday and event coverage using PCO
  • Serve as a point of contact for parents, providing support, communication, and a welcoming check-in experience
  • Partner with the kids pastor throughout the week by supporting Sunday scheduling, preparing curriculum and materials, and ensuring all environments are ready for Sunday.
  • Support and encourage Serve Team members, helping build a healthy and positive team culture
  • Ensure all Kids environments are clean, organized, age-appropriate, and fully stocked with necessary supplies and materials
  • Help implement curriculum, activities, and simple lessons across environments
  • Support execution of kids programming and events beyond Sundays as needed
  • Follow and enforce WestGate Child Protection Policies at all times, maintaining a safe and secure environment
  • Complete incident/ouch reports and communicate with parents when needed
  • Coordinate room reservations, event setup, and scheduling through PCO
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all policies and procedure
