Responsibilities

As the Accounting Manager / Assistant Treasurer, you will:

  • Manage daily accounting operations in accordance with GAAP and GASB standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist with development and administration of the annual operating budget.
  • Oversee fund accounting, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and cash management.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable and Utility Billing staff.
  • Coordinate annual audits and maintain audit-ready financial records.
  • Process and oversee bi-weekly payroll and payroll reporting.
  • Assist with employee benefits administration and retirement reporting.
  • Prepare reports required by state and regulatory agencies.
  • Support Human Resources administration and special projects.
  • Attend evening board/council meetings as required and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Recommend process improvements that strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and account reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with GASB is highly desirable.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using computerized accounting and financial management systems.
  • Ability to obtain bonding as required for the position.

Preferred Experience
