Accounting Supervisor
Overview:
The candidate will assist the Director of Finance, Controller, Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting Manager to help oversee daily accounting operations focusing on timeliness and accuracy of information reported to the property Executive Management Team and Corporate Office.
Responsibilities:
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal required

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Previous experience in a customer service position preferred

  • Willingness to learn and take on different projects

  • Ability to adapt to changing environments

  • Must be able to walk, sit, stand, squat, and lean during daily business for extended periods of time.

Qualifications:
  • Good oral and communication skills,

  • Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel spreadsheets

  • Good telephone etiquette

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written material such as general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations, etc. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, vendors and the public.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, etc.

  • Must have the ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.

  • EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Accounting degree or equivalent combination of related work experience within the hospitality industry and education.

  • Previous resort/hotel experience with computerized accounting systems.

  • Proficient PC skills particularly with spreadsheet software (Excel) and Property Management System

  • SECURITY/CONFIDENTIALITY

  • Highly confidential employee data, legal and financial information.

  • PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  • Embrace and exhibit the standards and culture of The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport. Adept at learning new computer software and systems.

  • WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
