Qualifications:
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent;
  • Two to three years of experience in Medicare/Medicaid billing or experience in management functions.
  • Knowledge of or experience in accounting/bookkeeping.
  • Must be willing to obtain computer knowledge with hospice computer systems.
  • At least one year experience in health field preferred;
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate flexibility by performing a variety of tasks
  • Current automobile insurance and valid driver's license
Responsibilities:
  • Performs all billing functions related to Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance in accordance with normal billing practices and SJH Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of Medicare/Medicaid notifications and billing information;
  • Maintains patient records on the computer;
  • Participates in in-service training of the branch,
  • Maintain Human Resources files, including employee time sheets and record of PTO days and usage including hours of volunteer reporting;
  • Manages office functions, including equipment maintenance, office supplies, forms, balancing checkbook, keeping petty cash, office environment, etc.;
  • Maintains contract files, P&P manuals, and forms books;
  • Completes various reports and produces outcomes data as instructed;
  • Minimal travel to company locations may be required as needed to support business operations and job responsibilities;
  • Other duties as assigned.
