Job description

Job Summary

Our fast-growing and dynamic IT services company is seeking an experienced Computer Field Repair Technician for immediate hire. This position involves traveling to K-12 schools and educational institutions to diagnose, repair, and support laptops, Chromebooks, and other computing devices directly at customer locations.


The ideal candidate has strong hardware troubleshooting skills, enjoys working independently, provides excellent customer service, and can efficiently manage onsite repair assignments while representing the company in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites, primarily schools and educational organizations, to perform hardware diagnostics and repairs
  • Diagnose and repair laptop and Chromebook hardware issues
  • Replace components including screens, keyboards, batteries, hinges, touchpads, and motherboards
  • Disassemble and reassemble systems efficiently and accurately
  • Perform device testing and quality checks to ensure successful repairs
  • Document repair activities, parts usage, and service results
  • Communicate professionally with school staff, administrators, and end users regarding repair status and expectations
  • Manage assigned service tickets and maintain required turnaround times
  • Maintain company tools, repair inventory, and service vehicle (if applicable)
  • Follow company procedures and safety guidelines while working at customer locations

Requirements

  • Prior hands-on laptop repair experience required
  • Experience with Chromebook repair strongly preferred
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the service area
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
