Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, and direct supervision of the Lead Imaging Technologist, the CT Technologist is responsible for performing prescribed CT scans and/or radiologic procedures for diagnostic purposes. Assures quality patient care while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction, quality, safety, and compliance with all state, federal, and local regulatory requirements. The CT Technologist is technically and clinically competent in Radiologic Technology for all ages served and ensures that age and culturally appropriate care is given. Works effectively as a team with the Radiology Manager, Lead Imaging Technologists, Imaging staff, and personnel from other departments to collaboratively provide the best customer experience possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs prescribed diagnostic CT examinations according to established operating practices and Radiologist protocols without constant supervision.

Collaborates with all customers to complete CT examinations in an efficient manner. Able to recognize emergent patient situations and respond appropriately.

Maintains regulatory requirements, including all local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting organization standards related to the Imaging department and, as appropriate, to each facility.

Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety, compliance, and satisfaction.

Monitors CT supplies and equipment to utilize resources efficiently.

Effectively communicates with Imaging staff, patients, and all customers to promote quality patient care and safety.

Takes emergency call/standby after normal operating hours as required by the needs of the department and the monthly schedule.

Other duties as assigned to support the overall effectiveness of the department and organizational performance in accordance with Curry Health Network’s Mission, Vision and Shared Values.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiologic technology required.

Minimum two (2) years of experience in diagnostic radiology and CT preferred.

ARRT Radiography and Computed Tomography registration required.

OBMI State of Oregon Radiography and Computed Tomography license required.

Current AHA BLS required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Advanced workstation computer skills including MS Office applications, PACS, HER.

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Advanced computer skills related to the operation of high technology and computer driven equipment is essential.

Requires critical thinking skills and must possess a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
