Senior Hardware Integration Engineer

Location: Greater Boston Area Preferred (Remote Considered Based on Experience)
Compensation: $120,000 - 200,000 Base + Equity

We're partnering with a venture-backed technology company developing advanced computer vision solutions for manufacturing. Their platform helps enterprise customers improve quality, increase efficiency, and gain real-time visibility into production operations.

They're looking for a Senior Hardware Integration Engineer to bridge hardware and software by integrating industrial vision systems into real-world manufacturing environments. This role combines machine vision, industrial automation, and Python development, working closely with software and computer vision engineers to deploy reliable production systems.

What You'll Do

  • Integrate industrial cameras into production software pipelines
  • Develop and maintain Python-based hardware and camera integrations
  • Work with camera SDKs to configure and optimize image acquisition
  • Configure lighting, optics, camera calibration, synchronization, and image capture performance
  • Design and maintain PLC integrations with customer equipment
  • Integrate production systems with PLCs, SCADA, and industrial control platforms
  • Troubleshoot hardware, networking, and software integration issues in manufacturing environments
  • Partner with software and computer vision engineers to deploy new capabilities at customer sites
  • Support installation, commissioning, monitoring, and long-term reliability of deployed systems

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience integrating industrial machine vision or automation systems
  • Strong Python development experience for hardware or software integration
  • Experience with industrial cameras, camera SDKs, or imaging systems
  • Experience integrating PLCs and industrial automation equipment
  • Familiarity with industrial networking protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA, or GigE Vision
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking
