Job description

The Fergus Falls School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our middle school team as a Computer Technology Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This position is a .9503 FTE.  In addition to communications technology courses, this position will assist with REACH and RTI programs. 


The ideal candidate will inspire and engage middle school students through innovative instruction in computers, technology, and digital learning and will foster creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and responsible digital citizenship while preparing students for future academic success.


Full-time wage currently ranges from $49,662/year - $87,809/year. This position has a benefit package that includes health insurance, life insurance; 403b contribution; long-term disability insurance; retirement benefits through the Teachers Retirement Association (TRA); and sick/personal leave.

Licensure: Must hold a valid Minnesota teaching license in the area of technology education, communication technology careers or other relevant licensure.

JOB SUMMARY: 
To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible persons; prepare and implement a full educational teaching plan according to the school's requirements; and organize a class that will make learning an easy and meaningful process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 
The tasks listed below are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary.
    Plan a program of study that will meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
    Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is as appropriate as possible to the maturity and interest of students, given materials and conditions provided by the school district.
    Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establish objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
    Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives to students.
    Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
    Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents as necessary.
    Assists the administration in implementing its adopted policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and         maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner consistent with the school board policy and state law.
    Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
