CNC Operator Trainee
Location: 365 Haacke Dr, Chestertown, MD 21620
Pay Range: $18 - $20 per hour, 15% Shift Premium on 2nd Shift
Work Hours:
  • 1st Shift - 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
  • 2nd Shift - 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Are you ready to launch a hands-on career in manufacturing? The Dixon Group is looking for a motivated CNC Operator Trainee to join our team at our BOSS Division in Chestertown, MD! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who wants to learn valuable technical skills, work with advanced machinery, and be part of a company that invests in your growth. In this role, you'll be trained to set up and operate Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) mills and lathes to produce precision metal components. You'll learn how to inspect products against mechanical and technical drawings, identify machining issues, and make necessary adjustments-all while working in a supportive, safety-focused environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Participate in hands-on training to learn CNC machine setup and operation.
  • Produce metal components according to engineering specifications.

  • Gain familiarity with Dixon's product lines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with your team to ensure smooth and safe production processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

  • Comfort using hand tools and applying basic shop math.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of your shift
