  • COMPENSATION: Hourly or Flat Rate based on skill level
  • SCHEDULE: Tuesday through Saturday - 7:30am - 4:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY
The Automotive Technician performs vehicle repairs and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy
  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and perform repair
  • Saves and tags parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer
  • Complete an MPI on every vehicle worked on
  • Advises service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
  • Documents all work performed and recommended electronically on the repair order
  • Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keep in mind that customers' vehicles should not be used for personal errands
  • Interacts with customers in a professional and courteous manner (i.e., when asked to participate in a ride-along)
  • Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned
  • Attends factory sponsored training classes
  • Keeps current on factory technician bulletins
  • Ensures that customer's cars are kept clean
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean and is always able to account for all dealership-owned tools
  • Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes, OSHA, Right to Know, etc.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed
