Summary
The IT Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop systems, hardware, software, and peripheral devices that support critical business operations. This person serves as a key resource for end-user technical support, ensuring system reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining seamless connectivity across production and business environments.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral devices to ensure optimal system performance and reliability
  • Deliver responsive technical support to end users, providing clear guidance, training, and assistance to enhance productivity and user adoption of technology solutions
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and user-related technical issues by gathering information, performing root-cause analysis, researching solutions, and implementing effective corrective actions
  • Deploy new hardware, software, and technology solutions in accordance with organizational standards, project requirements, and established IT procedures
  • Perform preventive maintenance, system updates, and routine servicing of IT equipment and peripheral devices to minimize downtime and extend asset life
  • Research emerging technologies, system issues, and infrastructure needs, providing recommendations for upgrades, repairs, replacements, and process improvements that enhance operational efficiency
  • Escalate complex or high-impact technical issues to senior IT personnel when appropriate, while maintaining ownership of issue tracking, communication, and follow-through to resolution
  • Deliver training resources and end-user support that promote effective utilization of IT systems, applications, and technology tools across the organization
  • Foster a culture of IT security awareness across all levels of the organization
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, system configurations, hardware inventories, and technical resolutions to support operational continuity and knowledge sharing
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of technical school training in Computer Technology or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in an IT support or technical support role
  • Strong understanding of networked environments, computer systems, and information technology infrastructure
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems, antivirus solutions, networking hardware, email systems, TCP/IP protocols, Microsoft Office applications, Ethernet connectivity, PC emulation, and internet security principles
  • Demonstrated ability to assess the technical support needs of internal customers and deliver timely, effective solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to support users across all levels of the organization
  • Highly dependable and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and adhere to established processes
  • Self-motivated individual with strong learning agility, a proactive mindset, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the workplace
  • Strong work habits, including punctuality, reliability, and consistent attendance
  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident
