Job description

Yorkshire Academy is a private school in Houston, Texas, for children from 18 months through 5th grade. We cultivate character, citizenship, and academic curiosity through personalized instruction and small class sizes. We are looking for a passionate and qualified computer teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year.


Responsibilities:

1. Implement engaging lesson plans for PreK-5th grade students, introducing foundational computer skills, digital citizenship, keyboarding, coding, and age-appropriate technology concepts.

2. Integrate tools such as CreatiCode (3D Simulations) Scratch, Tinkercad, and Micro:bit to promote creativity, problem-solving, and computational thinking.

3. Maintain a positive, organized, and well-managed environment that supports responsible technology use.

4. Ensure devices and systems are functioning properly and updated as needed using JAMF.


Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Education, Computer Science, Technology, or a related field


Experience Requirements:

  • Experience working with elementary-aged students (3 years minimum)
  • Prior classroom teaching or instructional experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with coding platforms or digital design tools such as Scratch, Tinkercad, CreatiCode (3D simulations), Micro:bit, or similar programs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with educational technology tools and troubleshooting skills.
