Position: Network Administrator- Brighton Corporation

Reports to: IT Manager

Direct reports: None

Exempt Status: Salaried Exempt

Major Responsibilities

The following Network Administrator duties and responsibilities will be performed under the direction and supervision of the IT Manager. This position will be responsible for;


Administration

· Support server, network, and end user operations on a 24/7/365 basis that may include: Deployments, upgrades, hardware rollouts, troubleshooting, administration, and related operation functions

· Configures, upgrades, installs, troubleshoots, and manages network firewalls (Palo Alto), VPN, Cisco switches, Unify Networks access points, network devices, server hardware and software

· Maintain hardware refresh cycle for all corporate equipment

· Manage alerting and monitoring of enterprise network systems

· Configure, upgrade, and manage the Hyper-V virtual environment

· Manage and test backups to ensure high availability and disaster recovery

· Serves as the primary point of contact for helpdesk and end user support requests, alongside broader responsibility for network by providing telephone, email, remote, and in-person technical support

· Administer all aspects of Microsoft Active Directory including group policy, DNS, and DHCP

· Create and update system documentation on established support procedures and processes, problem resolution steps, and escalation procedures. Make recommendations to management on updates and changes as required

· Administer user, group, and email accounts utilizing Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange

· Analyze, and maintain infrastructure solutions according to business and technical requirements

· Maintain and manage infrastructure hardware and software licensing

· Maintain security standards. Lead in the use and adoption of standard frameworks that align with overall business and technology strategies

· Maintain network and computer system security in accordance with company policies and procedures

· Ensure all systems, data, and information are protected from unauthorized access, modification, deletion, or disclosure in compliance with security best practices and accepted risk levels of risk

· Continually analyze the current state of the security framework, identifying gaps and key areas for improvement, and help steer the team through the delivery of technical solutions

· Provide reviews and recommendations to the management team of systems, solutions, business ventures as viewed through a “security first” mentality

· Make recommendations to IT management on the purchase of software, tools, and utilities

· Participate in new project development to facilitate automation in conjunction with development

· Works closely with IT Manager to develop annual IT operating budgets 

· Act as backup to the IT Security Technician 

· Other duties as assigned


Preferred Experience:

· 1-2 years’ work experience in an IT Operations environment or equivalent

· 1-2 years’ experience managing virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V

· Knowledge or experience managing L2/L3 switching and routing (Cisco) in a primarily TCP/IP multi-subnet, enterprise VLAN environment

· Exposure to Palo Alto firewall and Global Protect management and configuration

· 1+ years of experience with Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, and Azure AD synchronization

· 1+ year of Apple\MAC support experience

· Demonstrated ability to perform administration of Veeam Backup and Replication software

· Demonstrated experience with appropriate server and network management platforms, such as Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP\IP, IPv4, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, IIS, Certificate Services, and WSUS

· 1+ years’ experience administering Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2025

· Basic knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN)

· Knowledge and experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Perl, etc.

· Knowledge of Patch Management technologies

· Perform “on-call” rotation which may include nights, weekends, and holidays

· Self-motivated and directed with the ability to perform without direction

·  High standards of integrity and ethical conduct in professional and personal matters 

· Maintain a professional image in dress and grooming


Physical Demands:

· Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (e.g., processing paperwork, patching cables, occasionally use of a ladder)

· May be required to perform physical labor such as lift\move 25 pounds. 

· May be required stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for a prolonged period of time


Other considerations:

· Valid driver’s license required

· Some travel, less than 5%, may be required


This posiiton is onsite, no remote work.
