Job description

This is an on-site position.

As an IT Support Specialist, you will be the face of True West Beef when it comes to supporting employees and the internal technologies they leverage daily. You will work with the plant IT team to ensure that employees have a seamless technology experience at work. If you enjoy helping people with technical issues, this is the career for you.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies
  • Log and track calls using CA service desk and maintain historical records and related problem documentation
  • Develop reports using standard reporting tools
  • Assist in testing and documenting new applications developed in-house
  • Assist IT staff in developing and delivering various end-user training programs
  • Provide assistance in maintaining accurate user and technical documentation for support systems
  • Setup and configure desktop PC’s, printers and RF scanners
  • Provide on-site maintenance for desktop PC’s printers, and RF scanners
  • Participate as a member of 24×7 on-call support staff
  • Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Must possess basic hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents related to IT technology
  • Must possess the ability to respond effectively to non-technical users and communicate with technology staff members
  • Must possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must possess the ability to handle multiple demands and priorities
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively on all user levels
  • Must possess a positive attitude and have a desire for continued learning

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience required
  • Associates Degree in an IT program preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with physical, network and software security
  • Experience with maintaining routing networks, VLANs, and ACLs.
  • OLAN experience preferred
  • Administering diverse operating systems like Windows and Linux
  • Experience with workflow analysis and improvement
