Job description

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Technology Systems Manager to join our team as the strategic driver and primary custodian of our growth and consumer platform. This role is designed for an advanced technical operator and strategist who doesn't just manage the "plumbing" of marketing technology, but designs the blueprint for its future scale.

In this role, you will partner closely with the Director of Marketing Operations & Platform to translate our strategic vision into a high-functioning reality. You will own data governance, advanced system integrations, and tool enablement. From architecting customer data platform (CDP) frameworks to engineering the signals that power our paid media spend, you will ensure the integrity, scalability, and technical excellence of our growth stack.

What you'll do:
  • Data Governance & Architecture: Define and enforce the global "source of truth" for our marketing data. Architect multi-platform CDP tracking taxonomies as well as set and enforce data standards to ensure our events and attributes remain clean and actionable across the entire martech ecosystem.
  • Strategic Platform Administration: Serve as the primary technical authority for our core martech tools, e.g. CDP, MMP, and LCM automation platforms. Oversee platform health, proactively monitor complex API structures, manage infrastructure costs, and troubleshoot system-level errors.
  • Cross-Functional Technical Solutioning:ย Bridge the gap between Marketing, Data Science, Engineering, and Product. Translate complex marketing use cases into robust technical specifications. Lead end-to-end implementation for major platform enhancements, custom SDK deployments, webhook integrations, and advanced personalization models.
  • Enablement, Playbooks, and Mentorship:ย Serve as the internal subject matter expert to standardize and scale our martech capabilities. Design logic-based workflow frameworks, reusable template libraries, and advanced training resources that minimize operational risk. Drive platform ROI by mentoring and upskilling non-technical team members, establishing self-service playbooks that allow the growth org to execute campaigns independently and at scale.
  • Performance Signal Engineering: Spearhead the technical strategy for tracking and attribution in a privacy-first world. Engineer resilient server-side tracking pipelines, maintain robust Conversion API integrations, and lead MMP deep-linking configurations to protect media spend efficiency against shifting compliance standards.
  • Privacy & Compliance Stewardship:ย Proactively design the martech stack to adapt to evolving global privacy frameworks (e.g. TDPSA, GDPR), ensuring secure identity resolution and legal compliance in partnership with Data.
Skills you have:
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or certification in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, or related fields.

  • 7+ years in a technical Marketing Operations, martech, or Growth Engineering role.

  • Deep, foundational knowledge of data orchestration CDPs (mParticle, Segment, etc.). Comfortable managing intricate schemas, debugging real-time event deliveries, and handling unified customer profiles.ย

  • Proficiency with SQL and modern development languages/frameworks (Node.js, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, or Python). Comfortable navigating cloud infrastructure (AWS S3, Lambdas, Firehose). While you don't need to be a core feature developer, you possess the code literacy to read, debug, and implement tracking SDKs within our native apps (Kotlin for Android, Swift for iOS).

  • Experience in modern lifecycle automation platforms such as Braze, Iterable, or customer.io. Advanced proficiency in HTML/CSS for email and experience with logic-based templating languages (Liquid).

  • Advanced understanding of REST APIs, JSON payloads, and token authentication. Ability to write code or scripts to bridge platform gaps when native integrations don't exist.

  • Deep understanding of Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) like Branch or AppsFlyer, mobile SDK tracking, and conversion signal optimization.ย

  • Evaluate and implement AI-driven tools to automate routine martech responsibilities, such as automated tag deployment, real-time signal health monitoring, and proactive anomaly/error detection.

  • Proven track record of managing complex technical projects from initial scoping and proof-of-concept through to final deployment and cross-functional handoff.

Who you are:
  • The Technical Anchor & Architect: You are the definitive technical expert. You love being the person who solves the problems that are "too complex" for generalists, looking at challenges through a software engineering lens.ย

  • Strategic & Pragmatic Builder: You look beyond immediate, short-term fixes. You design automated, resilient systems that "just work," allowing marketing and product teams to safely innovate at scale.ย

  • Collaborative Integrator: You excel at translating business requirements into developer-ready technical specs, navigating cross-functional conversations with Engineering, Product, and executive stakeholders with ease.ย

  • Detail Obsessive: You believe that data integrity is the foundation of high-performing marketing teams.
