The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs (FDVA) seeks to hire talented and dedicated individuals who share our commitment to excellence. The incumbent in this position serves as a Distributed Computer Systems Consultant for the Agency and reports to the Distributed Computer Systems Analyst II.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science. Professional experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required bachelor's degree.
  • 3 Years of experience supporting customers face-to-face.
  • 3 Years of experience supporting Microsoft Entra.
  • 3 Years of experience supporting Microsoft Intune.
  • 3 Years of experience supporting print management.
  • 3 Years of experience configuring FIDO2 keys.
  • Possess and maintain a current driver's license and can travel within the state of Florida.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. of equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position serves as the Distributed Computer Systems Consultant for the FDVA and is tasked with supporting staff members on-site at the assigned location within the county of the Long-Term Care Facility. Configures and supports endpoints for staff members, printers, FIDO2 keys, and Cloud solutions. Ensures 99.99% uptime. Ensures security patches are applied to all endpoints at the assigned work location. Works with the core networking team to resolve DHCP and DNS issues. Completes inventory requirements for all equipment at the assigned work location. Participates in the technology onboarding of new staff at the assigned work location.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Forward-thinking individual with a passion for innovation and emerging technologies, possessing the ability to digitally transform an antiquated ecosystem. Listens to what other people say and asks questions to assess and fill the gaps needed for digital transformation. Conducts tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expected. Transition the environment to a Cloud-native DevOps architecture by applying critical thinking, identifying long-term implications, implementation planning, equipment, and coordination training sessions at the work location.
Ability to: Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; process information logically, troubleshoot and solve problems; work collaboratively or independently; communicate clearly, orally and in writing; display professional attitude in all circumstances; learn in a fast-paced environment; pay attention to detail; analyze and interpret technical data; act as a project technical stakeholder contributing to research and documentation.
