Description:

The Systems Engineer – Junior provides technical support for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of computer systems, software, and operations to ensure systems function according to design specifications. This role supports system integration, troubleshooting, and documentation efforts under the guidance of senior engineers.


Work Environment

  • Primary Location: DISA Headquarters, Ft. Meade, MD.
  • May require occasional travel for deployment or testing support to OCONUS locations.
  • Work performed under supervision with opportunities for growth into mid-level roles.
Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and service computer systems programs and software.
  • Diagnose and resolve system problems; provide technical support to end-users.
  • Analyze and document functional and data requirements.
  • Conduct research and analyze technology information relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Participate in development of new systems or tailor commercial products to meet user requirements.
  • Develop and execute tests to ensure systems meet documented requirements.
  • Prepare system documentation, including requirements and usage guides.
  • Support software configuration management and assist in refining existing programs.
  • Apply formal specifications and design techniques (e.g., data flow diagrams, CASE tools).
  • Assist in estimating software development costs and schedules.
  • Work with interactive, real-time IT engineering systems in secure environments.
  • Work on integrating Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS)

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
