Job Summary

The Systems Engineer is responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining enterprise‑level security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and related technologies. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.

Important: This role is not internal IT and does not involve help desk support, corporate networks, end-user devices, or software development. This position focuses on designing, configuring, and deploying physical security systems (access control, cameras, field hardware) at customer job sites.

Essential Functions
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background investigation

  • Flexibility to work extended hours, participate in an on‑call rotation, and travel overnight as needed

  • Commitment to safe work practices and protection of confidential information


Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and repair CCTV systems (analog and IP), access control systems, burglar alarms, and related security equipment

  • Perform system diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on indoor and outdoor equipment

  • Document all installation, service, and maintenance activities

  • Pull wire, terminate cabling, and complete infrastructure work as required

  • Operate lifts and work safely at various heights

  • Follow all customer and company safety standards

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Physical Demands & Safety Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry an 80‑lb extension ladder

  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding

  • Ability to work at heights using man lifts, scissor lifts, and fall‑protection equipment

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions


Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Manufacturer certifications preferred, including: Honeywell, Kantech, American Dynamics, Prowatch, Victor, VMS, or similar security platforms

Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in a similar systems installation or service role

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and general computer proficiency

  • Ability to effectively use hand and power tools

  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and security system technologies

  • Strong understanding of networked security systems and IP‑based devices
