Job description

The Signaling Systems Designer is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and understanding fire alarm systems for coordination and design purposes; revise drawings as needed from quality control and/or AHJ/client reviews. Print, Plot and process drawings for internal and external use. Advise Senior Designers of potential issues or scheduling concerns due to changes and revisions.


Your Opportunity

As a Signaling Systems Designer, you will work on a broad range of design projects including projects you own, as well as collaborating with Senior Designers on more complex projects. There is ample opportunity for development within our company, and travel is available, if desired. More specifically you will:

• Design fire alarm systems using AutoCAD within the time constraints established by the task.

• Responsible for reviewing consulting documents, fire sprinkler drawings, survey documents and applying them to the fire alarm design.

• Responsible for sending out client deliverables.

• Responsible for putting drawing submittal packages together for submittal to the AHJ.

• Making changes to the fire alarm drawings from QC/peer reviews.

• Other duties as assigned.


Your Qualifications

• 3 years CAD design experience in the Architectural, Construction or MEP trade required

• Prior experience in REVIT, preferred

• NICET certification in Level I or II, preferred

• High School or GED, required

• 2 years’ college or specialized training in Fire Protection or CAD Technical School; Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection, Engineering, or CAD, preferred.
