CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD Computer Operator II Fort Rucker, Alabama DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as electronics and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, batteries, solar panels, electrical circuit boards, and automated target systems. Operates gas powered equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, mowers, and related gas-powered range maintenance equipment. Operates Remote Computer Stations in support of automated ranges based upon unit scheduling. Operate and monitor computer systems and peripheral equipment. Perform routine tasks to maintain equipment performance standards. Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining computer systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing support to users. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Formal or on-the-job training in requisitioning, issuing, warehousing, documentation and control of property.
  • Two (2) years of progressive experience in computer systems operations.; One (1) year of practical experience in data entry and formatting via common productivity tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite. ***Note: Experience may be concurrent.
  • Proficiency in operating various computer systems and peripherals.
  • Understanding of system and database backups.
  • Ability to identify and resolve system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proof of US Citizenship required.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Observe error messages and identify faulty output or machine stoppages.
  • Initiate system recoveries and similar procedures.
  • Perform data processing operations according to range operating procedures.
  • Perform backup procedures to reduce data loss.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system software, hardware, and network issues.
  • Answer questions and troubleshoot problems for users.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, maintain Installation driving privileges and complete a Defensive Driving Course.
  • Must be able to pass all security requirements IAW military installation Provost Marshall's Policy to gain access to the installation.
Other Requirements: US Citizenship required for this Position: Yes Performance Location: Fort Rucker, Alabama Relocation Assistance: No Clearance Type: N/A (may require background check) Travel Required: Limited, within local training complex areas Working Environment: The work environment consists of both office and field settings within the Fort Rucker Gunnery Range and Training Complex. The position may require frequent visits to range and maintenance sites, including exposure to noise, weather, and outdoor conditions typical of live-fire training environments. The Project Manager may be required to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays based on mission schedules and contract needs.
