Position Overview

Healing Garden Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our compassionate team. This full-time remote position allows you to make a significant impact on the mental health and wellbeing of individuals within our community. As a counselor, you will be responsible for assessing clientsโ€™ mental health needs, creating personalized treatment plans, and guiding them through their therapeutic journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health status through interviews and standardized tools, establishing a clear understanding of their concerns and strengths.
  • Design and implement individualized therapeutic treatment plans that align with each clientโ€™s unique needs and therapeutic goals.
  • Engage clients in regular therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques and culturally responsive practices to foster understanding and healing.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, effectively addressing diverse needs while promoting inclusivity and open dialogue.
  • Monitor client progress through regular evaluations and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure cohesive treatment approaches, referring clients to psychiatrists or other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of client interactions and progress within the EHR system, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse client population, including individuals dealing with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and other mental health challenges. You will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through their treatment, providing them with the tools and resources necessary for resilience and recovery.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, showcasing a breadth of clinical expertise.
  • A deep understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and the implementation of culturally competent care practices.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations effectively with strong de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications necessary for effective practice management.
