Join us as an Estimating Student for our Winnipeg district, within our Canadian Buildings sector starting in January 2027. This is a 4 month term with potential to extend to 8 or 12 months. Depending on your assigned project as an Estimating Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Here's how an Estimating Student for PCL Constructors Canada Inc. within Winnipeg contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Understanding and utilizing PCL’s estimating manuals, systems and forms
  • Reviewing quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
  • Performing assigned quantity survey
  • Giving quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing
  • Transferring quantities to lead estimator
  • Performing general subtrade solicitation duties
  • Bid document control
  • Performing bid day assignments
  • Visiting job sites periodically 
  • Developing relationships with subcontractors
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
  • Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
