Job description

Job Summary:
BAE Systems, Inc. is an international defense, aerospace and security company delivering advanced electronics and technology solutions. They are seeking a Software Engineering Lead to provide technical leadership, project management, and guidance for software development activities in defense-related projects, focusing on critical mission capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Technical execution of all phases of software development from requirements to test and integration
• Leading a software team in an Agile development environment
• Program planning including Integrated Master Schedule and budget development
• Management of the software effort for cost and schedule (including Cost Account Manager responsibilities)
• Working with the program team including program management, engineering management and other disciplines to ensure success
• Performing estimates and participating in proposals for future business
• Participating in staffing and hiring decisions
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and minimum of 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
• Secret Security Clearance (active in the past two years)
• Background in software development in OO/C++
• Demonstrated ability in all phases of software embedded development
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Software project management experience including scheduling, budgeting, cost account management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
• Working knowledge of real-time embedded programming
• Agile Development experience
• Designing and/or implementing software algorithms
