Title Shop Technician 

Job Type Hourly 

Department: Service

Supervisor: Service Manager 

SUMMARY

As Shop Technician for Southwest JCB, you will be an integral member of our service department. The shop technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various JCB equipment machines and components in the shop environment. To include diagnosing, ordering parts, customer and warranty reporting, customer communications, and maintaining company assets. The position's primary focus is to [perform quality maintenance, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment] while providing the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are general guidelines and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of the full scope of responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities may change based on business needs and at management's discretion.

  • Diagnose and repair equipment and components.
  • Properly source and order parts to ensure the repair is fixed the first time correctly.
  • Work in a shop environment on various JCB machines.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on JCB equipment in a shop environment as directed.
  • Communicate repair progress to both the Service Manager and the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Use of company vehicles and special tooling properly, including maintaining all company-owned assets in a clean and safe manner
  • Completing all paperwork promptly, including work orders, parts orders, time, etc.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by direct management.

Education/Additional Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining construction equipment
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and basic math skills.
  • Computer-literate with the ability to process information
  • Ability to communicate, prioritize, and maintain time management
  • Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision
  • Physically able to perform duties and lift up to 75lbs.
  • Maintain a great attitude toward work
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and practices as required
  • Acceptable driving record
  • A history of safe work habits
  • Driven, self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Valid Driver’s License/Acceptable Driving Record
