Job description

Job Summary -


To take the actions necessary to maintain a clean hospital, including cleaning patient rooms, nursing stations, waiting rooms, outpatient treatment areas, restrooms, offices, entrances, elevators, stairwells and miscellaneous ancillary areas, as assigned. Cleaning will be in accordance with department policies and procedures. Will use the standard cleaning chemicals, supplies and equipment, such as disinfectants, glass cleaner, general purpose cleaner, dust mop, wet mop, dusters and vacuum cleaner.

Regulatory Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices as they are performed in modern health care facilities, but previous experience is not required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Language Skills

  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Able to use dust mop and wet mop for various periods of time.
  • Able to clean up unpleasant messes (blood, vomit, urine, etc.)
