Job description

Job Description Summary: The Residential Services Assistant is responsible for managing dietary services that include menu planning, ordering food, preparing meals and snacks in accordance to each person's diet needs. The Residential Services Assistant is also responsible for deep cleaning residents' bedrooms and bathrooms and other assigned cleaning to maintain standard of cleanliness expected by residents and certifying agencies. The Residential Services Assistant will be responsible for ordering supplies for the residential unit and program. The Residential Services Assistant will complete Support Coach duties, as assigned. This person will be responsible for delivery of a full range of support services to serve individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve have often experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. The Residential Services Assistant is primarily responsible for supporting an environment conducive to providing the maximum level of independent functioning of the clients served and demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. The Residential Services Assistant will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide support in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. The Residential Services Assistant reports directly to the Adult Residential Administrator.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Work Experiences:

  • Must have experience in dietary services; must have experience in sanitation and/or housekeeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all dietary services, including bookkeeping and billing functions, to effectively manage the dietary needs of the residents.
  • Oversees the care and cleanliness of all equipment; ensures staff is aware of portion sizes and cooking methods to prepare meals safely; and ensures safety and cleaning standards are met by staff.
  • Understands UDSA requirements and implements requirements when necessary.
  • Conducts quarterly surveys regarding the food provided through the facility.
  • Completes cleaning and deep cleaning duties of resident rooms and bathrooms and assigned areas of the facility.
  • fulfills program requirements, State and Federal regulations, CARF certifications, and quality standards by completing all necessary paperwork within the allotted time frames.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Working in an above normal food service environment.
  • Typical physical demands include frequent standing, bending, stooping, moving furniture, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate kitchen equipment and cleaning equipment.
  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Individuals must be able to properly clean and deep clean residents' living areas.
  • Requires the use of a computer.
  • Must be able to easily ambulate to get in/out of vehicles and transfer groceries/goods from vehicle to facility
  • TB test upon hire
