The Computer Science Department at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh seeks applicants for a tenure-track Computer Science position beginning in Spring or Fall 2027. Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field is required. ABDs with a reasonable likelihood of degree completion prior to hiring may also apply. Duties include teaching in an ABET-accredited program, conducting research, advising majors and serving on a variety of committees.

Applicants must submit all of the following materials: letter of application, curriculum vita, teaching statement, research statement, transcripts (official or photocopy), and three current letters of recommendation (actual letters must be received before the application deadline).

Required Qualifications:
  • An earned Ph.D in Computer Science or closely related field. ABDs may apply but must have earned degree by start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated record of effective teaching, or evidence of strong potential for effective teaching, as demonstrated through teaching experience, student evaluations (if available), teaching awards, a teaching statement, etc.

  • Evidence of the ability and willingness to teach a variety of undergraduate Computer Science courses, as demonstrated through prior teaching experience, graduate coursework, a statement of teaching interests, etc.

  • Record of scholarly activity demonstrated by publications in refereed journals and/or peer-reviewed conference proceedings.

  • Demonstrated expertise or specialization in one or more of the following areas, as evidenced by education, research, publications, professional experience, or teaching: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or Intelligent, Agentic, and Secure Systems.

  • Evidence of the ability and willingness to teach in multiple instructional modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, and hybrid) and/or teach graduate-level Computer Science courses, as demonstrated through prior teaching experience or a statement of teaching interests.
