Position Summary:ย The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Claflin University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate instruction, curriculum development, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and service while helping advance the growth and strategic direction of the Computer Science program.ย The department seeks a faculty member withย expertiseย in one or more of the following areas:ย 

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learningย 

  • Data Science and Analyticsย 

  • Cybersecurityย 

  • Software Engineeringย 

  • Cloud Computingย 

  • Computer Systems and Networksย 

  • Database Systemsย 

  • Human-Centered Computingย 

  • Emerging Computing Technologiesย 

Candidates with interdisciplinary interests and experience working with undergraduate researchers are especially encouraged to apply.ย 

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses inย Computer Science and related disciplines.ย
