Job description

Position Overview
The System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining critical information systems and infrastructure to support business operations. This role provides technical expertise in network administration, system support, and security to ensure reliable and efficient system performance. The position works closely with users and vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and support ongoing technology needs. This role contributes to building scalable, secure, and effective systems that support organizational growth and decision-making.
Responsibilities

• Ensuring effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and access control.
• Report writing and programming.
• Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting PC hardware and network devices.
• Providing user support for software applications including Microsoft O365.
• Establishing new employee computer logins and maintaining user security.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment including computers, video conferencing systems, visual presentation equipment, printers, and mobile devices.
• Working with appropriate vendors to order and maintain equipment.
• Managing servers – troubleshooting, vendor access, applying updates, etc.
• Diagnosing and resolving network, hardware and software incidents
• Responding to incidents and service requests for technical assistance in person, via phone and remotely.
• Tracking and routing incidents and documenting resolutions.

Qualifications

• Two or four-year university degree or college diploma in computer science and/or 2 years equivalent work experience.
• Experience in resolving technical issues and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Office 365.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Interest in acquiring new knowledge and skills in IT.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working within a manufacturing environment.
• On call availability during off hours.
