Job description

Location: Guaynabo, PR

The Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality data visualizations and semantic models using Microsoft Power BI within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. This role focuses exclusively on data consumption, visualization, and business insights, leveraging curated datasets from Azure Data Warehouse and Fabric Lakehouse environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports aligned with business requirements.
  • Create intuitive, executive-ready visualizations that communicate complex data clearly.
  • Apply best practices in UX (Experience)/UI (Interface) for reporting (layout, navigation, storytelling).
  • Develop KPI dashboards, scorecards, and operational reporting solutions.
  • Define relationships, hierarchies, measures, and calculated columns using DAX.
  • Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and usability.
  • Connect Power BI to governed data sources (no raw ingestion responsibilities).
  • Validate data availability and usability for reporting purposes.
  • Troubleshoot report performance issues and implement improvements.
  • Ensure reports align with compliance requirements (e.g., PHI, SOC2, etc. if applicable).
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather and refine reporting requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical visualization solutions.
  • Provide guidance on KPI definitions and reporting logic.
  • Support UAT and user adoption initiatives.
  • Publish and manage reports in Power BI Service / Microsoft Fabric
  • Manage workspaces, pipelines, and versioning.
  • Support CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or Fabric deployment pipelines.
  • Maintain documentation for reports, datasets, and metrics.
Required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 3โ€“4+ years of experience in Power BI development.
  • Experience working with Azure Data Warehouse / Synapse / Fabric Warehouse or Lakehouse.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise dashboards and reports.
  • Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service (advanced).
  • DAX (advanced).
  • Data modeling (star schema, relationships, measures).
  • SQL (read/query level).
  • Direct Lake / Import / DirectQuery modes.
