Salary: $37.40-$39.50 per hour
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Computer Programmer located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Al. Astrion has worked extensively with the Missile Sensor Test Division where it has earned a reputation for on-time delivery of high-quality products tailored to the needs of its clients.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline from an accredited* college/university and 3 years of experience with entry level applications programming in a higher level (Visual Studio VB.Net, C++, etc.) language, configuration management, maintenance, software unit testing, and operation of existing programs; or an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline and 5 years of applicable experience; or 7 years of experience performing software development, analysis, integration and related functions for research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems
  • Ideal candidate has demonstrated ability to assign work and manage personnel and tasks
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and independent thinker with out-of-the-box ideas
  • Leadership skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Establish or modify test criteria, develop test procedures, adapt or modify specialized testing equipment, and direct test equipment installation. This position will have a heavy focus on programming, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing missile test hardware/software. Propose process improvements that enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, or capability of energetic test operations. Demonstrated proficiency with management of tactical and strategic communications, marketing, and development of work products
  • Experience working with executives and senior management required
  • Exceptional customer relationship management highly desirable

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Will serve as an engineer responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, controls and upgrades of the various data collecting platforms used for daily test activities. The selected individual will ensure data acquisition, instrumentation, computer programming, audio/visual equipment, live data/video feeds, and control systems are fully operational. Direct and/or coordinate the design, fabrication, and checkout of the test setup prior to test start.
  • Responsible for management of resources, risk management, some contract management reporting, and management of task order leads.
  • Ensures that projects are fully controlled, that goals and objectives are set, responsibility is assigned, and results are documented.
  • Participates in projects from the planning stage, provides additional or missing materials, and edits, organizes, and formats content for clarity, flow, and integrity.
  • Responsible for assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work.
  • Some travel may be required.
