Job description

About Marvell

Marvell's semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

As a CAD engineer in Marvell Central Engineering, you will lead EDA license infrastructure strategy and operations to maximize tool availability, compliance confidence, and cost efficiency. You will drive automation, self-service visibility, and selective AI-assisted analytics to scale reliability and optimize usage across global engineering teams.

What You Can Expect

Core EDA License Operations

  • Own day-to-day EDA license server operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across global engineering teams.

  • Administer, troubleshoot, and resolve complex license issues involving FlexNet/FLEXlm and vendor-specific license managers.

  • Monitor real-time license usage, queues, denials, and expirations; proactively address bottlenecks and outages.

  • Manage license configurations, feature mappings, and allocation policies aligned with project priorities.

  • Partner with engineering teams to support critical tapeouts, regressions, and peak-demand phases.

  • Coordinate with EDA vendors on license renewals, upgrades, compliance questions, and escalations.

  • Support audits, true-ups, and compliance reporting, ensuring accurate usage data and traceability.

  • Drive cost optimization through usage analysis, pooling strategies, and rationalization of license portfolios.

Automation & Platform Enablement

  • Build and maintain automation scripts and services for license monitoring, alerting, reporting, and remediation.

  • Develop internal tools or dashboards for self-service visibility into license status, usage trends, and forecasts.

  • Standardize operational workflows, documentation, and runbooks to reduce tribal knowledge and manual effort.

AI-Enabled Enhancements

  • Apply AI-assisted analytics to:

    • Forecast license demand during peak project milestones

    • Identify abnormal usage patterns or inefficiencies

    • Support scenario planning and capacity modeling

  • Use AI to enhance reporting, summarization, and self-service support-with human-in-the-loop controls for operational decisions.

  • Leverage AI cautiously to improve signal-to-noise, not to replace operational ownership or accountability.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience, or

  • Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Proven experience operating and scaling EDA license infrastructure in a production engineering environment.

  • Handson knowledge of EDA license managers (e.g., FlexNet/FLEXlm and vendorspecific daemons).

  • Familiarity with major EDA tool suites (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens, and others), including tool installation and basic environment setup.

  • Experience supporting license compliance, audits, trueups, and vendor engagement.

  • Ability to provide tier2 / tier3 operational support, including incident response, rootcause analysis, and coordination with engineering teams and vendors.

  • Strong scripting skills particularly in the context of flow development, automation, and operational tooling.

  • Experience building or maintaining monitoring, reporting, and alerting systems.

  • Solid understanding of Linux environments and operational best practices.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to think creatively and pragmatically.

  • Operationsfirst mindset with a high level of ownership and accountability.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to translate technical details into actionable insights.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

108,220 - 162,100, $ per annum

Our offerings are built around four key pillars: financial well-being, family support, mental and physical health, and recognition.
