About This Role

We're on the hunt for a dedicated team player to join the Discovery family! As a Teacher Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Teachers and Director in creating a nurturing environment for children. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in implementing activities that promote quality care and education. You'll also be expected to develop positive relationships with children and their parents by observing and documenting their progress, and communicating that information effectively. A key part of your role will be to implement developmentally appropriate activities that cater to children's interests and needs, all under the guidance of the Teacher and Director.


What You'll Do
  • Partner with the teaching team to design and implement engaging curricula activities that foster children's participation and enthusiasm.
  • Act as a model of behavior, ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and organization of classroom materials are always maintained.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through regular progress reports and informal discussions.
  • Embody the importance of self-help and good hygiene by setting a positive example for the children.
  • Ensure a seamless daily transition for children as they move from home to child care center.
  • Comply with all center policies and state regulations at all times.
  • Develop a personal professional development plan to drive continuous quality improvement.

Requirements
  • High energy.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
