Job description

The Robotics Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering engaging instruction in robotics, engineering, coding, and technology concepts for middle school students. The teacher will foster creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking through hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for future STEM opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver standards-based robotics and STEM instruction for middle school students.
  • Teach foundational concepts in robotics, coding, engineering design, automation, and computer science.
  • Facilitate hands-on projects, challenges, and team-based competitions using robotics kits and technology tools.
  • Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that encourages innovation and student participation.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on projects, assignments, and performance tasks.
  • Support students instructionally through modeling, guided practice, and individualized assistance.
  • Model lessons and demonstrate proper use of robotics equipment, tools, and software programs.
  • Maintain and organize robotics equipment, materials, and technology resources.
  • Promote digital citizenship and safe use of technology in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and to integrate STEM opportunities across content areas.
  • Sponsor or assist with robotics clubs, STEM nights, competitions, or related extracurricular activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and program activities.
  • Participate in professional development and remain current on robotics, coding, and STEM education trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification preferred according to state requirements.
  • Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
  • Knowledge of robotics platforms, coding languages, and STEM instructional practices.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage students through project-based and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Work Environment
While performing the responsibilities of this position, the work environment characteristics listed below are representative of the environment the employee will encounter:
  • This is a 9-month onsite, in-person position.
  • Usual school working conditions. Classroom and laboratory-style learning environment.
  • May be noisy during high student traffic
  • Temperature may change from very cold to very hot due to weather and work location
  • Length of work day varies due to part nature of the job, school schedule, emergencies and participation in after-school events or competitions may occasionally be required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required), Master’s Degree (Preferred) AND
  • Relevant industry experience OR
  • 1-year Teaching experience, in Charter school (preferred) AND
  • Possess a valid Louisiana Teacher certification with a CTTIE endorsement or should meet minimum certification requirements for a Teacher as outlined in Louisiana DOE Bulletin 746 and CSAL, Inc. school board requirements are as they exist at the time of hire.
  • Able to pass required background check and DCFS State Central Registry review
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
